Rick Ng, MD is a first generation Chinese American, and a life long resident of the greater Detroit metropolitan area. Growing up in a hand laundry gave him first hand experience at problem solving and being self employed. He is a graduate of Cass Technical High, Wayne State University under grad and medical school. He spent his residency training in Family Practice at Providence Hospital of Southfield, Mi. Post graduation, he worked for a decade in the Providence Hospital emergency room while starting up a medical practice, “Specialists in Family Practice” with two fellow graduates. During the first decade of practice he was a team physician for Novi High’s football team. There he sought extra training in sports medicine. His love for sports and physical fitness is carried to this day.
His first exposure to medicine was the ying/yang balance by his mother, the self taught doctor of the family. He eventually came full circle to embrace her Oriental philosophy of holistic medicine. With experience in allopathic and holistic medicine, Dr. Ng takes a full spectrum approach to medical issues. He feels that it is necessary to restore a healthy foundation in the body via natural means, such as, nutrition, natural hormones, vitamins, minerals, acupuncture, homeopathy, structural alignment, energy medicine, and massage. There is a time and place for medications, but usually they are not the first and only choice.
Dr. Ng is a man in motion. He loves just about any activity to include running, biking, swimming, climbing, skiing, and lifting. Tennis is a great outlet for him as well.
