How does Ligaplex II help maintain a healthy skeletal system?
Ligaplex II contains bone-supporting whole food ingredients like bovine bone and veal bone. Bovine bone and veal bone PMG™ extract are used to support healthy connective tissue. A study showed that treating bone cells (mouse pre-osteoblast cells) grown under laboratory conditions with bovine bone supplements resulted in increased proliferation of bone-forming cells (osteoblasts) and accumulation of hardened (mineralized) bone material. 1*
Bone tissue serves as a reservoir of calcium and helps the body maintain a constant level of Ca+2 ions.2 It is important to understand that calcium is required throughout the human life cycle, a proper supply is required for overall health, calcium requirements change over time, and calcium inadequacies at various stages in life may result in a loss of bone density.3 Vitamin D is required by the body to absorb and mobilize calcium and also assists in natural immune modulation in the body.4 An important function of vitamin A is cellular differentiation and tissue repair.5Manganese plays a role in stimulating the creation of new bone material and calcification of bones, helps adults maintain a healthy skeleton,6 and facilitates the formation of connective tissue in the body.7 Some cellular processes, such as lipid, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism, are dependent on manganese; manganese is used by many enzymes in the body.8 Vitamin C is essential for collagen synthesis9 and collagen matrix quality.10*
